Checkpoints are barrels of fireworks that save the player's location if the player is knocked out. The player will teleport back to the checkpoint they activated if they had been knocked out. Their activation is simple, being activated by walking past it.
Once a checkpoint is activated, fireworks will shoot out and a sign with a check mark on it will appear. If the player had activated a checkpoint prior in the same trail, their old checkpoint would no longer be activated.
